Revitalize your eyes and give your face a bright well-rested look.
Your eyes are not just the focal point of your face, they’re the window to your soul. The delicate skin that surrounds them can also be the first victim of aging. If your eyes have become darker, saggy and baggy, they’re not reflecting your used-to-be vibrant outlook on life.
An eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, is a face surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the eyelids. It rejuvenates the appearance of the eyes by removing lower eyelid bags that develop in some faces as they age and also removes redundant folds of skin on the upper eyelid. While the procedure will not be obvious to others, the rejuvenation effect and restored brightness will be. It is the most powerful procedure to help restore a rested and brightened appearance. The goal of a blepharoplasty is to bring a natural, overall effect of youthful vitality back to the eyes. Aging of the lower eyelid is usually a combination of loosening of the skin and the development of pouches of fat that can make us look tired. These changes can be corrected in 2 ways.
A traditional lower lid blepharoplasty uses an incision beneath the eyelashes to remove the fat pockets and tighten the skin. Alternatively, the fat pockets can be removed through a small incision inside your eyelid and then we use a laser to tighten the skin on the exterior. This novel technique has the advantage of not leaving a visible scar on the lower eyelid. The upper eyelid surgery typically consists of removing the redundant skin leaving a discreet scar in the lid crease.
Combined with non-surgical procedures such as Botox and customized skin care, eyelid surgery can be the cornerstone of a comprehensive anti-aging strategy. Blepharoplasty can also be combined with a facelift and non-surgical treatments to enhance the effects.
