Coolscupting is an exciting new technology that freezes fat cells in order to destroy them. This is a treatment that is done in our clinic with minimal discomfort and allow patients to resume normal activities immediately afterwards. The results are noticeable after 1 month but continue to improve up to 3 months after the treatment. Once the fat cells have been destroyed they will not return. Results are permanent.
Are you a good candidate? Coolsculpting is an ideal skin treatment for a patient who maintains a healthy diet and lifestyle but has stubborn areas of fat that just won’t disappear. Coolsculpting should be considered as an alternative to liposuction to improve your silhouette or contour your body. However, it is not a means to weight loss.
The most popular areas for Coolsculpting among men are love handles and neck fat. The most popular areas for Coolsculpting among women are tummies, love handles, outer and inner thighs, bra line, neck fat, and saddlebags.
The technology cools down the tissues causing the fat cells to freeze while protecting the overlying skin. As the water crystalizes in the treated fat cells they burst and rupture. The body gradually eliminates these ruptured fat cells over time. We expect approximately a 20% reduction in the thickness of the tissue with each treatment. Depending on the results the patients is aiming to achieve, some will elect to have a second treatment a month after their first.
The Coolsculpting procedure is done right in our clinic at EspaceMD where we have two machines allowing us to treat two areas simultaneously. This makes us super-efficient when performing this procedure. Some patients experience discomfort as their treated areas are cooling down. They feel a cooling/iced sensation that fades once the area is frozen.
You can sit comfortably in our clinic for an hour while the treatment is being done and check your emails, watch a movie, and just relax. If multiple areas are being treated we can get it done in 2-2 ½ hours. Patients start to see the results 1 month later and full benefits at 3 months.
